Police say four people were shot in West Philadelphia just before 5 p.m. at 60th and Race streets.

"He fired at a group of males sitting on a set of chairs," said Philadelphia Police Captain John Walker.
Authorities say the four victims range in age from 33 to 60.
Police say a 55-year-old man was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A 33-year-old man and a 60-year-old man were also injured but are expected to survive.
The condition of the fourth victim, identified as a 33-year-old man, was not immediately known.
Officials say the shooter was on foot and is likely from the area.

Chad Stephens was inside a nearby home with his daughter when the gunshots rang out.
"We heard rapid gunfire. We were in the kitchen at the time. I told my daughter; we both got down. It's like a war zone," said Stephens.
Around 4:30 p.m., police say a man was shot in West Kensington on the 200 block of East Wishart Street. He was placed in critical condition at an area hospital.
Around 4:12 p.m. a 31-year-old man died after being shot multiple times in the head. It happened on the 1800 block of North Ringgold Street in North Philadelphia.
And just after 3:30 p.m., police say a 40-year-old man was shot in the foot on the 6600 block of Lebanon Avenue. He is expected to survive his injuries.

Police say a 32-year-old man was shot multiple times on the 1100 block of Sydney Street around 7:37 p.m.
He was taken to an area hospital where he was placed in stable condition.
No arrests have been made in connection with these shootings.
