It happened around 4:30 a.m. Thursday in the 2700 block of Germantown Avenue.
Police say a man in his 20s entered a home through a window and was then shot by someone inside.
The man shot was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The building houses the New Germantown Grocery store on the bottom level with apartments up top.
Initial reports from the scene indicated the shooting happened inside the store.
