A neighbor held the snake at bay with a shovel handle.

Animal control officers believe the snake is non-venomous.

A Florida tech professor identified the snake as a 'green anaconda', which can grow to some 20-feet in length.

The Florida wildlife commission is scanning the snake for a micro-chip to see if it's someone's escaped pet.
