15-year-old charged in fatal Atlantic County shooting, prosecutors say

MULLICA TWP., N.J, (WPVI) -- A 15-year-old Mullica Township resident has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man whose body was discovered after a crash late Friday night, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

Police responded to a single-vehicle crash near White Horse Pike and Snow Hill Road.

When officers arrived, they found Javonte Stallworth, 19, of Mullica Township, dead inside the vehicle. Authorities said Stallworth had suffered a single gunshot wound to the head.

Investigators said witnesses reported seeing two people flee the crash scene on foot. A short time later, officers located two juvenile passengers who had been traveling with Stallworth.



Both were taken to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office for questioning.

After the interviews, prosecutors charged one of the juveniles, a 15-year-old from Mullica Township, with aggravated manslaughter along with additional related charges.

The juvenile was taken to the Harbor Fields Juvenile Detention Center, where he is being held.

The investigation remains ongoing.
