2 charged in $30K copper wire thefts in Delaware

NEWARK, Del. (WPVI) -- Two Delaware men are facing charges in connection with the theft of thousands of dollars of copper wires.

Nathan Barrell, 43, and Daniel Tiberi, 33, are accused of stealing the wires from Verizon utility poles.

Police say the thefts happened on September 6, November 4 and November 9 in and around Newark.

Over the course of the three incidents, police say the suspects caused an estimated $30,000 worth of losses in materials and damages.

Police say Barrell was identified as the suspect in all three incidents, while Tiberi was suspected in the November 4 theft.
