PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- At least 23 cars parked on campus at St. Joseph's University were vandalized last week, causing thousands of dollars' worth of damage.

Some of the cars have trash bags taped to their passenger windows, while others have broken glass scattered on their seats and shards encrusted in the doors.

Most of the vehicles were either parked in Hawk's Landing Parking Garage or the adjacent lot in the Wynnefield section of Philadelphia.

On Wednesday, Philadelphia police released photos of a vehicle wanted in connection with the investigation. Police say two suspects are being sought, and the pictured vehicle was used in numerous incidents near the college campus.

"It was all over my seat, it was all over the ground," sophomore Bailey Foller-Moll told Action News last Thursday. She says she found her car in the garage with the window busted out on Nov. 5 and quickly learned she wasn't alone.

"All the cars adjacent to me were all broken into as well," she said.

Police say the smash-and-grab spree happened Nov. 4 at the garage on North 54th Street. So far, Southwest Detectives have reports of 23 cars damaged.

"The M.O. is the same. Broken passenger side window," said Captain Robert McKeever.

Investigators say in some cases, they only smashed a window. In others, they stole from the car too.

"Even change out in the open, that's still an opportunity for someone to break into your car. Which you might only have $20 in change, but now you have to pay $300 for a window," said McKeever.

Victims say while they hope the suspects are caught, they're still upset over the cost of this crime.

"It's affecting more than one person. A lot of kids here use their car as their only way of transportation, so not having one and having to pay a couple hundred bucks out of pocket isn't really normal for a college student to try and fit," said McKeever.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 215-686-TIPS.
