PLYMOUTH TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- A man has been charged with attempted murder after investigators say he injured two Plymouth Township police officers.

The incident occurred around 12:39 p.m. Friday near Hickory and Narcissa roads.

According to investigators, 21-year-old Dalton Lee Janiczek intentionally backed into an officer upon arrival. When the officer exited his vehicle, he fired his weapon as the suspect allegedly drove directly toward him.

Deputy Chief Thomas Nolan of the Montgomery County Detectives said the Janiczek then drove through the parking lot of the DoubleTree hotel and returned, striking the officer three more times.

"He's trying to put on a tourniquet. The vehicle drives directly at him, striking him a second time. The vehicle then backs up two additional times and strikes the officer intentionally," Nolan said.

A second officer was hit head-on by the suspect while arriving at the scene.

Both officers are expected to be okay.

Janiczek was arrested at the scene and taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. There's no word on whether the suspect was struck by gunfire during the incident.

Chopper 6 captured the sprawling crime scene as hotel guests were left stranded, unable to return to their rooms.

"They were trying to come back, and they were told it was either blocked off or it just wasn't happening for them," recalled Sean Duckett of Washington, D.C.

Police are also reviewing other recent reports involving the same vehicle in Montgomery and Chester counties.

In a statement, Easttown Township Police Chief David Obzud said, "We attempted to stop the vehicle last night on Lancaster Avenue for a traffic violation. The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed and the officers disengaged from the attempted stop. Our detectives are working with Montgomery County Detectives to determine if the driver from today's incident was the same driver from our incident."

Other police departments that may have had contact with the vehicle include the Pennsylvania State Police, Springfield Township in Montgomery County, and Whitpain Township.

Janiczek is currently being held without bail.
