ABINGTON, Pa. (WPVI) -- Two men are dead following what investigators have determined was a murder-suicide in the Glenside section of Abington Township on Sunday morning.

According to the Montgomery County District Attorney, officers responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting around 11 a.m. at a home on the 3000 block of Spruce Avenue.

When police arrived, they found 54-year-old William "Billy" Maurer dead from a gunshot wound inside the home.

Investigators say 28-year-old Brandon Maurer was also found suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was taken to Jefferson Abington Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Authorities said several other family members were inside the home at the time of the shooting, but they were not injured.

An investigation by the Montgomery County Detective Bureau and the Abington Township Police Department found that Brandon Maurer and his uncle had been arguing when Brandon shot him before turning the gun on himself.

Police recovered a firearm owned by Brandon Maurer at the scene.
