It's one of the largest street festivals in the city of Philadelphia.
This year, the event spanned 14 blocks and featured roughly 200 vendors.
We all think it's really beautiful to take the cars off the street for the day and let the pedestrians come in, let everyone stroll and really experience all Northern Liberties has to offer," said Festival Co-Founder and Standard Tap Co-Owner, William Reed.
2nd Street Festival takes place on all of N. 2nd St in Northern Liberties between Girard Ave and Spring Garden streets.
"This is my first year, so I'm very excited," said Chanel Gloster, the owner of The Leafy Branch. "I've been expanding my markets that I'm doing, I figured why not!"
While most of the vendors are local, Gloster made the two hour trek from Washington D.C. to Philadelphia to participate.
The event features an assortment of food trucks, two live stages, beer gardens and other street performers.
Organizers say it's all about bringing people together and allowing new people to experience all Northern Liberties has to offer.
"I love it. I love Northern Liberties. I like the sort of small town community sense, but you're still in the city and get all the benefits of that," said Dom Sposato of Northern Liberties.
"It's great to support the local businesses, get out here have some drinks, have a good time," said Amanda Kern of Northern Liberties.
Thousands of people attend every year.
"I can tell you that the growth has been exhilarating. As one of the organizers of the 2nd Street Festival and a founding member of the Northern Liberties Arts & Commerce Alliance, we know first-hand the positive effect events like this have on the neighborhood", said Owen Kamihira, President of the Northern Liberties Arts & Commerce Alliance.
The festival is free to attend and runs from noon until 10pm.
