PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Why see a show when you can be a show? - singing with Choir! Choir! Choir!

"The project is myself and Nobu Adilman," says Daveed Goldman, Co-Director of Choir! Choir! Choir! "We lead the audience together from the stage."

"Over the course of one night, we teach a whole bunch of arrangements to songs, and we connect people through music," says Nobu Adilman, Co-Director of Choir! Choir! Choir! "It's a party."

Called "Hallelujah: An Epic Anthems Sing-Along," it's one night only on November 8 at the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts' Zellerbach Theatre.

"You're kind of led through different songs and anthems," says Christopher Gruits, Executive and Artistic Director for Penn Live Arts.

"The show will culminate with a performance of Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah,'" says Goldman.

Gruits calls the show "very interactive."

"Everybody can participate," he says. "The words are projected on the screen so people can follow along."

So you can belt out all the hits you know and love.

"The show is sort of paying homage to these songs that have kind of been the soundtracks to our lives," says Goldman.

"And music is like a time machine," says Adilman. "It takes you to your past. It takes you to special moments."

"And it's got all types of feelings in it - happy, sad, reflective, party jams, it's silly," says Goldman. "We love doing it."

Instrumentation is kept simple with Daveed on guitar.

"And Nobu's a great, like, activator," says Goldman. "And he's conducting."

"A lot of people were told at a young age that this is the way to sing and if you can't hit this note, then you shouldn't sing, and Choir! Choir! Choir! kind of exists to dispel that idea," says Adilman.

Singing with hundreds of strangers creates literal harmony and a unique experience.

"If you think you might like it, then you're definitely gonna love it," says Goldman. "And it's going to be unlike any show you've ever been to."

"Hallelujah: An Epic Anthems Sing-Along" is November 8 at 7:30 pm at the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts' Zellerbach Theatre, and there is no experience required to participate.
