PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A four-legged crime fighter is getting praise at Philadelphia International Airport after helping uncover thousands of dollars in hidden cash.
Nitro, a currency detection K-9 with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, alerted officers to a traveler headed to Mexico on April 30.
Officers say they searched the man and discovered more than $44,000 in unreported cash.
Federal law allows travelers to carry any amount of money, but anything over $10,000 must be reported to CBP officers.
