PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Actress and writer Quinta Brunson is giving back to her city by helping Philadelphia schools.
The West Philadelphia native and creator of the ABC hit show "Abbott Elementary" officially launched the Quinta Brunson Field Trip Fund on Tuesday.
"Field trips were some of the most memorable parts of my own education growing up in Philadelphia," said Brunson. "They opened my world, sparked my creativity, and helped me imagine a future beyond what I saw every day."
The fund will support over 100,000 students in Philadelphia's public schools and help pay for field trips and other out-of-the-classroom opportunities that make learning more meaningful.
