Acid thrown at group of people in Jersey City; may have stemmed from earlier dispute: Police

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (WPVI) -- An apparent acid attack in North Jersey that sent six people to the hospital is under investigation.

The incident happened in Jersey City on Monday night.

Police say a driver pulled up to a group of people in a neighborhood, threw what is believed to be sulfuric acid on them and drove away.

Three of the victims are teenagers.

All of them were treated for chemical burns.



Police took a juvenile into custody.

Investigators believe the attack was targeted and stemmed from an earlier dispute.
