PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia is expanding its enforcement against illegal parking, this time targeting drivers who block SEPTA trolley tracks.
Beginning Monday, SEPTA trolleys across the region will be equipped with AI-powered cameras that can identify vehicles illegally parked or stopped on the tracks.
The images will then be reviewed by officers with the Philadelphia Parking Authority, who will determine whether a citation should be issued.
SEPTA already uses similar technology on its buses to fine drivers who park in bus lanes.
Fines for blocking trolley tracks will begin on April 1.
