Pedestrian struck and killed on Route 40 in Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey (WPVI) -- Police say a driver struck and killed a pedestrian in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

It happened shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday on Route 40 eastbound at the border between Atlantic City and Egg Harbor Township.

Authorities have not released any further information about the driver or the victim at this time.

Route 40 was closed as police investigated.
