HARTFORD, Conn. (WPVI) -- A 250-pound bear made for some tense times in a quiet Connecticut community over the weekend.
Neighbors in West Hartford watched as the burly beast hoisted itself up into a tree trying to hide from authorities.

Officials got the bear down using tranquilizer darts.
But they set up safety nets first to make sure the bear was never in any danger.
