FAIRMOUNT PARK (WPVI) -- Hundreds of seniors from around the city "strutted" through Fairmount Park.
A small mummer string band was on hand to provide a musical send-off.

Hundreds of senior citizens, wearing brightly colored t-shirts, took a walk friday to show the importance of exercise.
The "senior strut" was a one mile loop that began and ended at Lloyd Hall along boathouse row.

Fairmount Park also received its national designation as a "Great Public Place" from the American Planning Association.
