Boeing plant in Ridley Township faces uncertain future

RIDLEY TWP, Pa. (WPVI) -- Officials in Ridley Township, Delaware County, are also concerned about losing jobs as the future of the Boeing plant may be in jeopardy again.

It could close its doors if the federal government does not approve funding for the Army's Chinook helicopter program, an aircraft manufactured in Ridley.

Delaware County Council Commissioner Richard Womack says a lack of funding would threaten the jobs of 3,700 people.

Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon says she is working with Congress to try and secure the Chinook program.
