Bucks County police officer, former public works employee charged with bid rigging, theft

A grand jury charged a Bucks County police officer and a former public works employee of bid rigging and theft.

UPPER SOUTHAMPTON TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- A grand jury charged a Bucks County police officer and a former public works employee of bid rigging and theft.

Prosecutors say Upper Southampton Township Officer Derek Gale and former township worker, Brandon Valentino, conspired to intentionally lower the value of two township-owned vehicles so they could buy them and then resell them at a markup.

Gale is on paid administrative leave.

Valentino was fired.
