Camden Community Uplift Benefits Access Co-Labs announces first round of grants

CAMDEN, N.J. (WPVI) -- Two social service organizations in Camden, New Jersey received funding on Monday to help boost the community.

The United Way announced the grantees for the Camden Community Uplift Benefits Access Co-Labs.

It is a 4-year, $2 million initiative to connect Camden residents to critical public benefits and economic support systems.

Organizers said the Center for Family Services and Mighty Writers were the inaugural grantees.

Together, both organizations are projected to engage more than 17,000 Camden residents, while drawing down nearly $16 million in public and private benefits over the life of the initiative.
