Camden man charged after K-9 finds phone used to solicit explicit photos from 7-year-old girl

CAMDNEN, N.J. (WPVI) -- A K-9 sniffed out key evidence that led to a man's arrest in Camden, New Jersey.

Elmer Lao is facing charges he allegedly solicited explicit photos from a 7-year-old girl through social media.



A trained electronic detection dog, named Rookie, found a cell phone in Lao's bedroom during a search of his home last week.



Investigators say Lao messaged the child, sent nude videos of himself and asked her to send nude photos in return.



Authorities say parents should monitor their children's online activity and report any suspicious behavior.
