CAPE MAY, N.J. (WPVI) -- Cape May County has been named the top leisure destination in New Jersey for the first time in decades.
The county reported a 4% increase in visitor spending over the last year.
It also reported a record-breaking $8.4 billion in visitor spending last year, the most among every other county in the Garden State.
County leaders expect this summer to be another strong season, with regional events like the FIFA World Cup and America's semiquincentennial bringing new visitors to the area.
