It happened around 9:30 p.m. Sunday along the 3900 block of Lankenau Avenue.
Residents say they had been concerned about the tree after branches had fallen during past storms.
"This is dangerous because I was afraid this tree was going to fall on my house or her house, and now look what happened; it damaged a couple of people's cars," said Carmen Santiago.
It is unclear if Sunday's rainy weather contributed to the tree falling.
No injuries were reported.
