GLENDORA, N.J. (WPVI) -- Roselyn Gonzalez opened restaurant Carmen's Table with her daughter and son in Glendora, New Jersey.

They offer smoked barbecue that highlights their Puerto Rican roots. Their biggest seller is the pork platter, which comes with sweet plantains, rice and peas, and a side salad.

For dessert, they offer the popular custard called flan and freshly made drinks such as lemonade and piña coladas.

After years of partnerships, Roselyn decided to open something of her own with her kids and turned to her passion for cooking.

The restaurant pays homage to her mother, Carmen, through her recipes; she remembers her sharing in her childhood neighborhood in Puerto Rico.

Roselyn takes pride in sharing healthy and affordable meals with her family.
