PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- 2026 is the 35th anniversary of the Center City District's establishment.

Sherron Dudley, Thomas Fitzmaurice, and Edward Vinlaun have been a part of the CCD street sweeper program ever since it started decades ago.

They ensure the sidewalks are clean by picking up trash up and down their usual posts.

For the last 3 decades, these faithful employees have helped beautify such a core part of the city.

"Their roles is...the foundation that the district based all of our principles on: 'clean and safe.' And their main objective is just to clean the sidewalks and be welcoming to our customers in Center City," said Director of Operations for Sidewalk Cleaning Division, Karl Tyler.

"They're more like ambassadors. They know the areas. They know the businesses. They know the store owners. So they become part of the community. I think that says it all... Just showing up and being here and doing the job that they do... program was built on people like that," he continued.
