PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- Hundreds got their steps in today at FDR Park to support Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

"The CHOP Foundation is a team that raises money to support all the amazing things that happen at CHOP and to support the community that takes care of all these amazing kids," said David Edwards, VP of Development for the CHOP Foundation.

"We'll have over 7500 people here today... over 430 teams... People can walk, run...join a team or they can support them with a gift and help them financially in any way they can...we're raising over $1.7 million today to support over 100 areas of the hospital, " he continued.

Eagles Running Back, Saquon Barkley, joined them at the "I Heart CHOP Run, Walk and Virtual Challenge."

"Seeing how the community is coming together to make an impact and make a change for these kids... It's truly special and I'm just excited to be a part of it...I've been privileged to go to the hospital and meet some of these kids, and it's life changing," said Philadelphia Eagles Running Back, Saquon Barkley.

There were Patient Ambassadors present at the event, including the Bailey Family from Deptford, New Jersey.

"We raised over $10,000 with the Brody Street Bullies for this walk. It means the world to us to give back because there are so many people that have given before us. We're so looking forward to helping families in the future that come up to these diagnoses and go through the hardships that we've gone through," said Lauren Bailey.
