CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. (WPVI) -- A young slugger has the ultimate hype music when he walks up to bat. His anthem is a theme song that is breaking news and making headlines.

Eight-year-old Owen chose the Action News theme song as his walk-up music.

As he gets psyched to bat in Conshohocken, his teammates aren't just cheering him on; they're also singing the theme song!

His father, Chris Rehmann, said they considered several hip-hop and rock songs before settling on the Philadelphia news anthem.

"Action News was on in the background, and we kind of made a joke, like, 'That would be really fun if that was your walk-up song-kind of like, you know, breaking news, Owen's up to bat.' And Owen loved it," Rehmann said. "The first time he went to bat with this song, it was awesome. And it's funny, every time we play a new team and Owen's first at-bat comes up, we always look over to the other parents, and they're like, 'Is this the Action News theme song?'"

Anyone who follows baseball knows the walk-up music is a reflection of the player.

Rehmann adds it also puts the batter at ease.

"I think sometimes walking up, their teammates are cheering them on like crazy. But yeah, Owen loves it. Our family watches Action News all the time, so the song is ingrained in our minds, as it probably is for everybody in Philadelphia," he says.

And being the superstitious player, he's had some good hits with this theme song, so Owen says he will likely keep it for fall ball.
