It happened on Route 29 next to the Trenton Water Filtration Plant around 6 a.m.
Video from Chopper 6 shows a downed light pole and tree, as well as tire marks and debris leading to the crash site.
Police say the only occupant of the SUV was that 76-year-old man.
His name has not been released.
An investigation into the circumstances of this crash continues.
Part of the highway was closed Tuesday morning, but all lanes have since reopened.
