Disoriented fisherman rescued from Wissahickon Creek

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- First responders rescued a man in the Wissahickon Creek near Philadelphia's Chestnut Hill section.

Authorities believe the man was fishing and became disoriented.

They say he was in the water a few hours when his wife went looking for him and called 911.

Firefighters, EMTs and police responded to the area around Valley Green Road, just before 11 p.m. on Wednesday.

They escorted the man out of the creek.



Medics then treated him for dehydration.
