PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Justice has been handed down after a young Philadelphia rapper's life was tragically cut short.

Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner announced Tuesday that Donovan Williams will serve life in prison without parole for the 2020 murder of Amir Johnson Daye.

Prosecutors played the surveillance video of the moments Williams and another man fired more than a dozen shots into a home on the 1400 block of North 61st Street back in July 2020.

Johnson Daye, an up-and-coming rapper, was shot and killed.

A second victim, Hezekiah Evans, was also injured.

Authorities believe the two victims were targeted after the killing of a 15-year-old football player, who attended Frankford High School.

Johnson Daye's parents were on hand as Krasner detailed the sentencing of Williams.

"I just want to say to the individuals that killed my son, I don't hate you," said his father. "I just wish you'd choose better and use your music to uplift your family and not destroy others."

Officials are now asking for the public's help in identifying others who may have been involved.

Authorities believe there is at least one other suspect who has not been identified.
