It happened around 2:45 a.m. on the 7600 block of the boulevard.
According to police, a gold Acura, driven by a 30-year-old male, was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control.
The Acura then plowed into the parking lot of the Roosevelt Inn, where it struck a parked vehicle.
Police say the impact of the crash propelled debris into the building, shattering the motel's glass entrance door and an adjacent window.
Both the parked vehicle and the building sustained significant structural and property damage.
Medics transported the driver of the Acura to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.
The investigation is ongoing.
