Driver hurt after striking deer on NE Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Lehigh County

LOWER MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- A driver was injured on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, when a deer ran in front of the vehicle.

It happened on I-476 North in Lower Macungie Township, Lehigh County, at 9:30 p.m. on Monday.

Police say the deer smashed into the vehicle's front window, which was how the driver was injured.

Two children in the SUV were okay.



The deer then flipped over the vehicle and hit the front of a tractor trailer.

Police say that driver is expected to be okay.
