"How you be the best is - you help these guys to win games and to win championships," said McCoy.
As much as McCoy would love to win another rushing title and even NFL MVP, the Eagles running back is eying a Super Bowl.
The leading rusher in the NFL is backing that up with hard work and he's taking nothing for granted - coming off the best year of his career.
"He does have a unique ability that the goals and aspirations he has are attainable. A lot of people can say, 'I want to lead the NFL in rushing' but not everyone has the God given ability to do it but he does. If he's going to set goals and aspirations for himself, he has to work for it," said Chip Kelly, Eagles head coach.
"That's why I'm busting my butt to do all the right things - stay in shape, mentally stay on top of the game, and being the best. If I do that, take all the small things, I should be fine," said McCoy.
Among the small things McCoy has been working at is actually getting smaller.
One of those goals - losing weight. McCoy has lost four to seven pounds this off season by cutting back on the late night eating.
He wants to be quicker and faster and keep up with Kelly's high tempo, no huddle offense.
"He came to camp in the best shape of his life. He's training like that every single day while we're out here. I think he realizes that he's in the prime of his career," said Kelly.
26-year-old McCoy is primed for another big year.
If the Eagles are going to make a deep run in the playoffs, they need McCoy to score numbers like he did a year ago, when he led the NFL with over 2,100 total yards.
