Worker rescued after being trapped in 7-foot-deep hole in Philadelphia's Parkside section

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A Philadelphia Water Department worker became trapped in a hole about seven feet deep in the Parkside section of Philadelphia on Monday morning.

It happened just before noon in the 1200 block of Belmont Avenue.

Crews were called to the scene to pull that worker to safety.

They did manage to get the worker out pretty quickly and she was okay.



Officials say the worker was performing scheduled maintenance on an underground main, and became stuck in the mud.
