Elderly man struck, killed by PATCO train in Cherry Hill

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (WPVI) -- An elderly man was struck and killed by a PATCO train in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

It happened just before 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Woodcrest Station located in the 200 block of Tindale Street.

PATCO officials say the man jumped in front of a train, trapping himself underneath.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

PATCO ran shuttle buses between Lindenwold and Haddonfield for almost three hours as police investigated the accident.

Trains are now back in service.
