Family seeks answers after father of 4 fatally shot in car in North Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A family is still searching for answers months after a father of four was gunned down in his own car.

It was just days after Christmas in 2025, when 39-year-old Dion Abraham was brutally murdered.

"The way he was murdered and how he was murdered, it really affected the family very hard," says Leonard Brown, Abraham's father.

Police found him shot multiple times while sitting inside a silver Nissan Maxima along the 3600 block of North 17th Street in North Philadelphia on December 29.

He clung to life for nearly a half hour before succumbing to his injuries.

"Dion was a loving, caring dad," says Brown.

Abraham was a father of four children and had moved to Abington, Montgomery County.

His father says he was raised in North Philadelphia, and would visit the area often.

"If you know something, come forward so the family can have some type of closure about what happened and why," says Brown.

There is a $20,000 reward being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the shooting death of Dion Abraham.
