When fire crews arrived, they saw flames coming from the building. It was then escalated to a 2nd alarm around 7:40 a.m. and then a 3rd alarm just after 8:15 a.m.

Chopper 6 flew near the scene, where heavy smoke could be seen for miles.

The owner of the facility tells Action News the space was used for storage and light manufacturing and that, at one time, included making Christmas decorations for local municipalities.

The items inside became accelerants.

No one was inside the building at the time. One firefighter had minor injuries.

There has been no word on a possible cause of this fire.

The fire happened about a block away from Frances Willard Elementary School. Those students were relocated to Russell Conwell Middle School for the day.
