The Philadelphia region could see record-breaking temperatures during the next three days as sunny, hot and humid conditions start the work week.
A Heat Advisory is in effect for the Philadelphia region until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, with the heat index close to triple digits.
Highs in the upper-90s will mark the earliest heat wave since 2017, according to Action News Meteorologist Payton Domschke.
She says highs will be 15-20 degrees above average.
The Action Cam was in Atlantic City on Monday, where plenty of people were walking the boards before the worst of the heat set in.
While it will be cooler at the coast along the chilly water, Domschke says overnights will provide minimal relief, with lows in the 60s and 70s.
However, the heat is expected to break midweek when a strong cold front brings showers and a few storms Wednesday evening.
Temperatures should be much cooler as we head into the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
