Flames force 3 families from their Brewerytown homes

Officials say a fire in Philadelphia's Brewerytown section forced three families from their homes early Friday morning.

The fire broke out around 1:45 a.m. on the 2500 block of West Oxford Street.

Crews arrived to heavy smoke showing in one of the houses.

They were able to get the blaze under control within fifteen minutes.

The Red Cross is assisting 15 people including several young children.



There are no reports of injuries.

The cause of the blaze has not been determined.
