Howard University is giving special recognition to former Disney CEO Bob Iger.

On Saturday, Iger received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Howard. He called it a 'tremendous recognition.'

"I must say, there's something very special about this. Part of it is the personal connection that I have through Chadwick Boseman and my friend Reggie Simmons. Part of it is just what Howard stands for - its reputation, its meaning," said Iger.

Both Iger and Disney have a special history with Howard. Under his leadership, the company established the Disney Storytellers Fund and supported the building of the Chadwick Boseman College of Fine Arts Center.
