PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Gas industry experts are casting doubt on the future of the so-called "Freedom Fuel Network."

President Trump announced last week that 25 gas stations around Philadelphia and South Jersey would voluntarily lower prices to $3.47, which is about 50 cents below the state average.

But industry leaders say the stations are losing money based on current oil prices.

According to fuel data obtained by ABC News, Pennsylvania gas stations would need to sell gas for at least $3.64 to break even.

We've seen prices jump 10 cents to $3.57 for at least two Freedom Fuel locations in Dresher, Montgomery County and Millbourne, Delaware County.

The retailer behind Freedom Fuel has not been named.

Shell and Valero told ABC they are not involved.

The Trump administration insists it is not involved either, nor is it subsidizing the discounted gas.
