GLOUCESTER TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- A Gloucester Township man has been arrested and charged with stealing victims' identities to apply for and collect their SNAP benefits.

According to authorities, 36-year-old Andre Streater stole the personal information of more than 40 individuals this past summer and submitted fraudulent SNAP applications.

Streater allegedly used his own phone number on all of the applications.

On Friday, we spoke with the officials who discovered the alleged fraud.

"Our staff reviews everything, and they started seeing some irregularities in the information," said Christine Henitsz, Camden County Board of Social Services Director. "They all came in within a day of each other, all using the same address, but the rest of the information was different. It caused staff to question it."

Streater would allegedly use his Cash App account to move the money from the SNAP payments into his personal bank account.

In total, he requested more than $128,000 from SNAP, police said.
