CAMDEN, N.J. (WPVI) -- Some long-awaited work is now underway to improve one of Camden's central thoroughfares.
City and county officials broke ground Monday on a $6 million project to upgrade Newton Avenue, between Kaighn Avenue and Pine Street.
In addition to rebuilding the road, crews will add curbing, sidewalks, landscaping and lighting.
The work is expected to be complete by Summer of 2027.
