A young father was killed, and his mother is hoping the investigation soon leads to an arrest as the gunman remains on the loose.
Sheila Porter is still trying to come to terms with the violent death of her youngest son, Semaj.
"Broken heart, we're mourning my child, my youngest child," says Porter.
The 22-year-old was shot and killed on Friday, November 28th, 2025 - the day after Thanksgiving - along the 800 block of East Madison Street in Kensington.
His mom says he knew his killer.
"He got into an argument with a family member, a few family members the day before. From what I know this happened with a family member. Nobody's perfect, but to shoot my son that many times over a fight. That's just hard. No parent should have to bury their child," says Porter.
Semaj's mother says he was the father of a two-year-old child, and preparing to start a new job at the time of his death.
"We're here left with broken pieces that no one can mend. Every day questioning why," says Porter.
There is a $20,000 reward being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the murder of Semaj Porter.
