GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. (WPVI) -- Gwynedd Mercy University hosted a career fair on Wednesday for students exploring the medical field.
More than 20 hospitals and healthcare systems gave students a chance to learn about internships and job opportunities currently available.
Health agencies also offered information on a host of career paths. Students also had the opportunity to network with professionals in the industry.
The fair is just one way the university is working to address the critical need for healthcare workers in Pennsylvania. The commonwealth is projected to experience a shortage of more than 20,000 registered nurses and more than 277,000 nursing support professionals this year.
