WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- A special Valentine's Day themed salute to veterans took place at the Wilmington VA Medical Center Friday.
Several Marines from the 6th Engineer Support Battalion, based in Delaware, handed out pink and red carnations to patients in appreciation of their service.
They also presented the veterans with cards made by local students.
The annual February event is part of the National Salute to Veteran Patients Program, which is dedicated to saying thank you to the millions of men and women who have served and sacrificed for our country.
