Husband of South Jersey cheerleading coach pleads guilty to sexually assaulting girl on cheer squad

MANTUA, N.J. (WPVI) -- The husband of a South Jersey cheerleading coach has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a minor. His wife is also facing charges.

The husband of a South Jersey cheerleading coach has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a minor.



Under the plea agreement, Michael Brown will serve 10 years in state prison.

Investigators say the victim, a member of the Harrison Sparks cheerleading squad, reported that the abuse began in 2018 when she was 13 years old, and took place at Brown's home in Mantua, Gloucester County.

Brown's wife, Valerie, allegedly knew about the abuse and is also facing charges.
