WILDWOOD, N.J. (WPVI) -- Photos released by school officials show the extent of damage after a fire at Wildwood High School forced students into virtual learning for two days.

Students were shifted to remote instruction on Thursday and again on Friday due to the condition of the building.

Firefighters were called to the school on Pacific Avenue just before 5 a.m. Wednesday. Crews located the source of the fire in an HVAC unit inside a third-floor classroom.

The fire was quickly extinguished and contained to that room, officials said.
