Improvement at Philadelphia International Airport on Tuesday after powerful storms

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Travelers saw some improvement on Tuesday morning at Philadelphia International Airport after severe storms brought thousands of cancellations and delays across the country.

At PHL on Monday, there were 180 cancelled flights and 280 flight delays.

There are still some cancellations and delays on Tuesday, but not as many.

Some travelers arrived early, anticipating long lines from the impacts of the storm and also the ongoing partial government shutdown that has left TSA workers without full pay.

At PHL, the security checkpoint at Terminal C has been closed since last week to ease staffing pressures.



Travelers are being diverted to other checkpoints.
