3 injured in stabbing following family gathering in Germantown

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Three people were injured, including a 14-year-old boy, after a family gathering in Germantown turned violent early Saturday morning.

According to Philadelphia police, officers responded to the 2100 block of West Grange Avenue around 12:15 a.m. Saturday.

Police say a 32-year-old woman was attending a family gathering following a funeral when an argument escalated into a fight involving her boyfriend's sister, a 37-year-old woman, and two family members.

During the fight, police say a firearm was shown and the woman was struck multiple times in the head with the weapon, causing lacerations. She also suffered a cut to her left finger.

The woman's boyfriend, 35, and her 14-year-old son were stabbed multiple times when they attempted to intervene in the fight.



All three victims transported themselves to Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Hospital for treatment and are in stable condition.

Officers recovered a 7-inch knife.

No arrests have been made.
